Federal recognition

The IRS states that churches meeting section 501(c)(3) requirements are automatically considered tax exempt and are not required to apply for recognition. Section 508(c)(1)(A) provides that exception from the general application requirement.

The Temple has elected to seek a voluntary IRS determination. That determination is pending; no determination letter has yet been issued.
